South Point Engineering new agent for Latin America & Caribbean

Sometimes the quest for quality and innovative solutions offers a short cut in connecting businesses around the world. This is how we came across a great company, specialized in bulk material handling solutions at ports in Latin America, via a technology partner that we work with for a project in South Africa. Now we’re happy to introduce South Point Engineering as the new agent for Eurosilo systems in Latin America & Caribbean.

“We are a full-service sales and consultancy company with a focus on material handling from ship to storage and from storage to ship”, says Julian Luna, CEO and founder of South Point Engineering. “This means we offer a wide range of services – from feasibility and consultancy to sales, implementation and after sales – but within a specific set of applications. The bulk materials that we offer solutions for are import and export products, such grain market products like soybeans and corn. But also, petroleum coke and coal. Consistent good quality and long-term value, that’s what drives our business at port terminals across countries in Latin America”.

South Point Engineering represents several European manufacturers in a vast region. But only if it matches their vision and strong commitment to excellent service. Julian: “We are not like a third-party company that would sell anything on the market. We only work with solutions we understand and really believe in. So, when I saw the videos and the website of ESI, it was like ‘Wow, I like that!’ The mechanisms and the technology I can understand. And I can see it is a sound technical solution as well as a powerful proposition for storage needs in the logistic chain at major ports.”

From ESI side, we needed to go online due to the pandemic and have long distance calls to make the acquaintance. The good thing about that is we could skip time consuming travels, because it became clear very soon that it was a good match. Julian Luna: “The storage volumes in ports are growing about 3% per year, so you need to upgrade the terminals. Therefore, I see good opportunities for the ESI Eurosilo. We are already approaching our customers with this new smart storage concept, so let’s see what the new year will bring!”
