First starch is coming in Karup!
The world’s largest potato starch silo, constructed for KMC at Karup in Denmark, is nearly finished. Following the tight schedule for this project, we have designed, produced and installed the internal machinery to handle a stunning 88,500 m3 of potato starch. After placing the 55 meter tall central shutter column that outputs the very fine starch, the slewing bridge and the auger frame were hoisted into the silo. This was the final stage before closing the silo with a 50 meters overarching roof. Our engineers completed the installation of all the equipment and software tools that need to be ready for flawless operation. We’re happy to say that we made the deadline for operation in December. The first starch is now coming for final testing and we’re confident for a successful commissioning of the world’s largest potato starch silo.
