ESI Keynote Speech at the 22nd Global Gypsum Conference
At the most recent Global Gypsum Conference, ESI Sales Director Richard Spaargaren delivered a keynote speech that was ranked among the top three most appreciated presentations, in a diverse array of speakers. Over 330 delegates from 45 countries attended the event in Bangkok, Thailand, to network and stay informed of the latest trends in the global gypsum industry. Amid ongoing innovations in gypsum products, the Eurosilo system has proven to be an advanced solution for the attending producers.
Showcasing the Eurosilo System
With over 60 FGD Gypsum Eurosilos worldwide, the Global Gypsum Conference provided an excellent opportunity to share our expertise. On the second day of the two-day conference, Richard began with an overview of options and technologies to ensure error-free handling of the non-free flowing, sticky FGD Gypsum. Presenting in front of an engaged audience was thrilling for Richard: “I was excited to present in Bangkok on how to handle sticky gypsum with the Eurosilo system. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Eurosilo system and interact with industry experts on our solutions for silo storage.”
Material Handling in Motion
Using video and animations to explain the working principle of the Eurosilo system proved to be very effective. “The main interest was focused on the key feature of the Eurosilo, the rotating horizontal screw conveyors. Suspended from a slewing bridge, these conveyors distribute the incoming FGD Gypsum across the surface while rotating full circle above the stored gypsum. When reversing, they push the gypsum towards the centre into the slotted column for reclaiming. This was made instantly clear by showing video and animation,” says Richard.
Proven All-in-One Solution
The Eurosilo storage solution for FGD Gypsum combines three functions in the smallest possible footprint: dewatering, storage, and load out, all integrated into one fully automated silo system. Instead of having separate units for dewatering, storage, and load out—which require operators, power shovels, and transport—this system offers a cost-saving solution. It extends the storage period from just a few days to over three months without any risk of blockages.

Next Conference in Amsterdam
Next year, the Global Gypsum Conference will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It goes without saying that ESI will be present at this high-level event. Richard Spaargaren: “We simply can’t miss out on this great opportunity in the Netherlands, so close to our office. It offers the possibility of an extended program of our own.” In the meantime, we are pleased to announce another order for an FGD Gypsum Eurosilo from our partner in China, New Bulks. More information will follow!
