We are proud to announce that Weibull, a pioneer in enclosed large-scale silo storage, has become part of the Eurosilo portfolio. The transfer from previous owner Gordic AB was finalised on 23 March this year. Both parties concluded that the global installed base of approximately one hundred Weibull silos will be best supported by Eurosilo, backed by the international strength of the AUMUND Group.
Safeguarding expertise
We are now in the process of transferring all available data and drawings of the existing Weibull silos into our systems. Together with Kjell Lundquist, who maintained all Weibull documentation at Gordic AB, our After Sales Manager Maarten Appelman is assessing decades of information. Maarten Appelman: “Most of the information dates from before the digital era, consisting of extensive archives of printed drawings and component documentation. We are going to digitise thousands of these hard-copy documents to ensure the information remains available when needed to support Weibull customers.”
Support for Weibull systems
Because many Weibull silos date from the mid-1960s, most have exceeded their economic lifespan. Owners can now turn to Eurosilo for inspections and support for their Weibull systems. In fact, Eurosilo already has a great deal of in-field experience with Weibull systems, ranging from inspection and modernisation for leading agribulk producers such as Amalgamated Sugar Co, Nordic Sugar, Lyckeby and Emsland Stärke, to modernisation projects for cement producers such as Rohrdorfer Zement and Heidelberger Zement.

Maintenance, conversion or new build
Typically, we see three continuity strategies from customers in Weibull projects. The first is targeted repair or replacement of obsolete components. With our extensive supplier network, we can provide alternatives for parts from manufacturers that no longer exist. The second is conversion, using state-of-the-art Eurosilo infeed, storage and outfeed systems. In this case, the silo structure remains intact while the material handling system is replaced. A third strategy is the development of completely new Eurosilo, based on detailed feasibility studies and tailored to future operational requirements.
